This year the CHOZEN AWARDS assembled a diverse committee to perform the arduous task of selecting the women who would be honored at the Women of Distinction Brunch. After an initial round of recommendations were made from industry experts, each committee member submitted their top picks from a list of nearly 40 women. Amanda Brown - Founder, Artist Trifecta Gallery
Amanda Brown embodies the spirit of design, art and entertainment. Her year-old eco-chic gallery located in Castleberry Hill, Artist Trifecta (www.ArtistTrifecta.com), beckons the beginning art collector with an exclusive group of artists who have emerged onto the arts scene making their personal vision reality with museums, national parks and statement exhibits. She gives back to the community through numerous outlets, empowering others while creating and co-chairing Fashion Uncorked, the Spring fashion event benefitting Easter Seals and Dancing for the Stars in the Fragile Kids Foundation fundraiser.
Cheryl Cooper - CEO, CLC Consulting Group, LLC
Cheryl Cooper makes it her business to create opportunities for personal and spiritual growth through entrepreneurial achievements. Her company’s motto, “Helping to Develop the Heart of Your Business”, is reflected in the consulting services she provides to minority- and women-owned businesses, churches, and non-profit organizations. Cheryl believes that to be sustainable, businesses must develop strong ‘hearts’ – which includes a solid infrastructure of business planning, strategic relationships, and governance, but also relies on the integrity, compassion and accountability of organizational leaders. Through direct coaching and hands-on project work, Cheryl acts as a right-hand woman to executives, creating wealth and successful ventures that benefit the community as a whole.
Jamar Jeffers - Membership Director, Georgia Center for Nonprofits
Jamar Hilton Jeffers is the Director of Membership with the Georgia Center for Nonprofits. As the Director of Membership of over 1,100 nonprofits statewide, Jamar works to empower nonprofits to manage more effectively by offering information, training, insurance services, consulting, networking, and nonprofit job services through membership. He applies his nonprofit experience as a volunteer with Junior Achievement at Martin Luther King Middle School and Big Brother Big Sister of Metro Atlanta.
Mike Schinkel - President, NewClarity, LLC
Mike Schinkel is an entrepreneur, and a WordPress Specialist whose broad background includes business and marketing success as well as experience with web and database technologies, development, implementation and training.
Mike ran the Atlanta Web Entrepreneurs from 2007 to 2010 for people interested in starting, funding, running, growing, and eventually exiting web-based businesses which had almost 2000 members at peak. This established Mike as a local "connector" in the Atlanta startup space.
Dee Dee Cocheta-Williams - CEO, A.B.C. Publicity
Dee Dee M. Cocheta is a 20 plus year veteran in the entertainment industry, and a 2009-2010 CHOZEN AWARDS Women's History Month Honoree. She has consulted, coordinated publicity efforts for music events, conducted media training and developed marketing and PR strategies for hundreds of independent artists in addition to: Chaka Khan, KRS One, Killer Mike, Tony Terry and done media/public relations and consulting for: BET Hip-Hop Awards, Turner South, Hosea Feed The Hungry, Celebrity Chef Ashley, Chuck D’s Slamjamz Label, UniverSoul Circus and more.
