OPERATION CHOZEN! A Community Initiative- Atlanta Community Clean-Up

Atlanta, GA (February 3, 2011) - To kick-off the 3rd annual CHOZEN AWARDS, several community organizations, activists, artists, entertainment and media professionals as well as residential do-gooders will participate in OPERATION CHOZEN, a Community Initiative, with the 2011 focus of cleaning up Atlanta each Saturday in the month of March. The month of March will be known and recognized as the official “OPERATION CHOZEN! A Community Initiative Month” as proclaimed by City of Atlanta’s District 2 on March 5, 2011 at the community clean-up opener.

Several area organizations and patrons like Matthew Garbett, the president of Fourth Ward Neighbors, and Garry Harris, the executive director of Center of Sustainable Communities have coordinated teams of volunteers for the community clean-up to take place in the Old Fourth Ward and Washington Park.

Angel of Love Events and CHOZEN AWARDS as well as all of the volunteer team leaders are recruiting both businesses and community members to do their part for the clean-up effort. There are neighborhoods in the city of Atlanta and metro areas that could benefit from this initiative, in particular within the Atlanta Beltline.

“The Atlanta BeltLine is connecting 45 city neighborhoods with new trails, parks and — soon — transit options. It is creating opportunities for new jobs, affordable housing, and healthier communities,” said Executive Director Valarie Wilson. “With the support and involvement of the communities it serves, through projects like the CHOZEN AWARDS Clean-Up Days, the Atlanta BeltLine is improving Atlantans’ quality of life.” OPERATION CHOZEN is an effort that the general public can easily take advantage of by doing their part.

All volunteers have the opportunity to receive reward points. They must register at dogoodgetrewards.com under "OPERATION CHOZEN".

District 2 City Councilman Kwanza Hall will preside over the "OPERATION CHOZEN" proclamation presentation on March 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Alexan 360- Club Room (Building 3/4) (180 Jackson Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30312).

About CHOZEN AWARDS In 2008, CHOZEN MEDIA, a trend-setting, Atlanta-based multimedia company, and Just BE, an Atlanta-based public relations agency, launched the CHOZEN AWARDS with a vision to inspire, impact and empower the metro Atlanta community in honor of the unsung heroes who make this city so great. Nominees are selected in 16 categories in the areas of business, entertainment, health, hospitality and the arts and are voted on by the public beginning February 14 - March 16. This year the awards event series welcomes the addition of OPERATION CHOZEN, a 31-day community service initiative, CHOZEN to be Green, (March 16) the sustainability and environmental awareness affair and the “Salute to Women” Brunch (March 27), in honor of Women’s History Month.
